Veterans Drug Rehab in Massachusetts

We understand that veteran substance abuse is a growing problem in the United States. Many military members suffer from physical injuries and mental health problems when they return from deployment.

The new war on terror has increased the trauma and emotional toll combat has had on our service members and their families. Prescription drug abuse is on the rise among veterans because many are treated with addictive narcotic pain medications for injuries. After an extended use, veterans may become dependent on these drugs, and eventually, an addiction can develop.

How We Can Help Those Who Serve Us

Harborview Treatment Veterans Program

At Harborview Treatment, we recognize the mental and physical toll deployment can have on an individual. Many veterans turn to substance abuse to manage the mental distress they experience because of their time on the battle lines. Unfortunately, mental health is a widespread problem among veterans, and those who go without treatment for their conditions are at higher risk of suicide. To extend support to those who have served our country, our addiction treatment and mental health treatment center in Massachusetts is now offering the Harborview Treatment Veterans Program.

Medical Detoxification

For individuals beginning their recovery journey, medically supervised detox provides a safe and supportive environment to manage withdrawal symptoms from drugs or alcohol. Our detox program is staffed by medical professionals who provide 24/7 monitoring, symptom management, and medication support when clinically appropriate. Detox serves as a critical first step, helping clients achieve physical stabilization before transitioning into ongoing treatment.

Residential Inpatient

Our inpatient and residential programs offer immersive, structured care for individuals who require round-the-clock clinical support. Clients reside on-site while participating in daily individual therapy, group counseling, behavioral health education, and evidence-based treatment modalities. This level of care allows individuals to focus fully on recovery while building coping skills, emotional regulation, and relapse-prevention strategies in a therapeutic environment.

Dual-Diagnosis

Many individuals struggling with substance use also experience co-occurring mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, or mood disorders. Harborview’s dual diagnosis treatment integrates mental health care and addiction treatment simultaneously, addressing the underlying causes of substance use while promoting long-term stability and improved outcomes.

Acute Detox

Our residential treatment program known as Clinical Stabilization Services lasts for a minimum of 28 days, though the length of your stay will be adjusted based on your personal progress and the severity of your addictive disorder.

Harborview Treatment Center combines proven therapeutic modalities — such as cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy — with a range of effective holistic treatment methods. Some of the holistic treatments we offer include nutritional counseling, yoga and meditation, 12-step immersion, art therapy, and a variety of other approaches.

Outpatient Programs

As clients progress, our clinical team develops personalized step-down plans to support continued recovery beyond residential care. This may include referrals to outpatient treatment, sober living resources, community-based therapy, or ongoing psychiatric care. Our goal is to ensure each individual leaves treatment with a clear plan, strong support system, and the tools needed to maintain lasting recovery.
